3-D Projection Events by The Depthography Group |
Robert Munn has presented his 3-D photography using 3-D polarized projection since the 80's. In 1992, Sara Cook has joined him as part of The Depthography Group and the two have presented 3-D projection and multi-media events in New York and San Francisco. For the last few years, they have had regular events at The Gershwin Hotel among other venues where they have recently shown the following:
World War 1 in 3-D with with Avant Garde` electronic Theremin accompaniment. The images are from Mr. Munn's
extremely rare personal collection of 200 glass plate stereo photographs of
the conflict. These 90 year old, emulsion-on-glass stereo plates were
manufactured in France between 1914-1918 and present a graphic,
uncompromising view of the horrors of trench warfare, no-man's-land, the
brutality and devastation of the World's first "modern" war. The immersive
effect provided by Ms. Cook's 3-D projection combined with Mr. Munn's provocative
live performance on the Theremin assures the audience a startling experience
difficult to soon forget.
